Anniversary Activity: #LearningTomorrow
How can we turn a short-term solution into a long-term opportunity?
The goal of the roundtable is to assess the current situation and to exchange experiences on the status of virtual internationalisation at Swiss universities. While the COVID 19 pandemic has forced universities worldwide to find ad hoc solutions to the current challenge, we believe that this is a golden opportunity to rethink how we manage international education in the longer term. We will highlight three current examples of the "virtual internationalisation" of Swiss and international universities as a basis to learn from and to inspire each other.
The 90-minute event will be structured as follows:
- Short introductions
- Presentations of case studies on virtual internationalisation, & Q&A
- Moderated roundtable breakout sessions: Exchange of related experiences amongst participants
- Summary and Take Aways
The event will be attended by Heads of International Relations or their representatives at Swiss Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts, as well as Universities of Teacher Education. The roundtable is organised by Movetia and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation in collaboration with the swissnex Network, with the support of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), the University of Basel and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (STPH).
A more detailed agenda will be shared with the attendees shortly.
This round table is part of the "#LearningTomorrow" series of the #nex20 campaign of the swissnex network As part of the 20th anniversary of swissnex, #nex20 aims to encourage all stakeholders in Swiss higher education, research and innovation to think about the future. Following this roundtable, the organisers will draw up a discussion paper to promote the development and implementation of virtual internationalisation initiatives at Swiss universities.
